On 1st July 2021, the Stakehill Business Improvement District (BID) began its first five-year term (until June 2026), working with existing and potential new occupants with a view to:
- To improve access, parking and traffic flow, to, from and around the estate
- To create a safe and secure environment
- To create a business community
About Stakehill Bid
What is the Stakehill BID?
The Stakehill BID in an occupier-funded non-profit partnership. It was established to drive and implement additional services that are needed for levelling up and advancing the Stakehill Industrial Estate.
In short, occupants contribute a supplementary levy on top of their business rates. And it’s their needs and concerns that inform and dictate planning and proactivity around any requirements that fall outside of local authority remits.
In order to bring the agreed plans to fruition, the Stakehill BID takes on a ‘middle man’ role, representing the voice of the occupants in dealings with public and private sector organisations, including:
- Rochdale Development Agency
- Greater Manchester Authority
- Transport for Greater Manchester
- Other larger public and private businesses and organisations that have integral roles to play
