As part of Keep Britain Tidy’s Great British Spring Clean period, Stakehill BID organised three Tidy Days on the 28th, 29th and 30th March 2023 between 11am and 2pm, for businesses on the estate.

The Tidy Day volunteers covered a significant part of the Stakehill BID area over the three days.

Day one was a rain-filled day but that didn’t put off the 25 hardy volunteers from Ceva Logistics. The day consisted of clearing from the start of Finlan Road all the way down to the junction of Boswell Way. 38 bags of rubbish were collected and even a couple of spare tyres.

Day two saw much kinder weather for the 13 volunteers from Footasylum, RDA and RBC. The day consisted of clearing Touchet Hall Road from outside Tontarelli down to PSV glass. 32 bags of rubbish were collected and a truck alloy wheel for good measure. We also had the council’s road and path sweepers on hand to help.

Day three – we focused more on the routes down to the canal from Touchet Hall Road and Whitbrook Way and 14 bags were collected, making it a grand total of 84 bags over the three days.

Stakehill BID would like to thank everyone who participated in the Tidy Days. The three day event had an excellent turnout from businesses, we collected over 80 bags of litter and this has made a positive impact on the estate.

We would also like to thank Rochdale Borough Council for the PPE, collection of the rubbish and the use of the road and path sweepers over the 3 days.

Details of future events will be in the weekly e-bulletin and if you don’t yet receive the e-bulletin but would like to click on the Link to register.
