Prior to the formation of the BID, Stakehill Industrial Estate had no bus service which was a big concern for businesses, and their employees.
With the assistance of Transport for Greater Manchester, Stakehill Industrial Estate now has a new bus service which visits Stakehill every hour, 7 days a week. The new bus service also has direct links to and from Rochdale Interchange, Middleton Bus Station and Castleton Train Station. This has provided new links to job opportunities for local residents of Boarshaw, Castleton, Kirkholt, Turf Hill and Firgrove. The timebtale can be found here.
The full range of Transdev Rosso (www.transdevbus.co.uk) and System One Travelcards (www.systemonetravel.co.uk) are valid on the bus service and Transdev Rosso have a mobile app, in which you can track the bus and gain access to the timetables.
The BID are continuing to liaise with Transport for Greater Manchester to improve the access for all employees and are in discussions about adding bus shelters to the site.
